AHRC/
ESRC
There are two principal
funding sources for postgraduate research
for students from the UK:
- Arts and Humanities Research Council
(AHRC) - www.ahrc.ac.uk
- Economic and Social Research Council

Normally only those students who are
UK citizens domiciled within Great
Britain are eligible for a full award.
For some awards candidates who are
nationals of a member state of the
EU and are resident in Great Britain
may also be eligible for ‘fees
only’ awards. Potential applicants
should consult the relevant web site
for more details and the relevant
forms.

Students liable to pay

These awards cover the difference

and http://www.sfc.ac.uk/information/information_research/orsas.htm
Overseas students who are unsuccessful
in obtaining an ORS award should note
that the College Studentship or College
Scholarship will not cover fees at
the higher overseas rate and they
will be required to meet the difference.
Overseas candidates who are successful
in obtaining an ORS award will automatically
have their full fees covered.
Please note that applicants are allowed
to submit an application for the ORS
awards through only one UK academic
institution.
