Many of our graduates go on to further study with a view to becoming professional archaeologists, working in universities, museums or contract archaeology units. But many others do archaeology because it fascinates them, using it as a springboard to another career. Archaeology is a multidisciplinary subject, and the acquisition of transferable intellectual and practical skills makes an archaeology degree very attractive to potential employers. Thus a significant number of our graduates can be found in non-archaeological professions such as business management, journalism, the civil service, radio and television, and the armed services.
