Study Abroad in Classics

Classics at Edinburgh offers many opportunities for study abroad. The usual programme would allow you to study in a University outside the UK during your third year (Undergraduates), or during a PhD programme (Postgraduate).

In your year abroad you will be required to continue the study of your degree subject by attending classes given in the main language of your host country. Admission to these programmes is highly competitive and places are limited. Entry is conditional upon academic achievement.

Classics is proud to be involved in this exciting and innovative teaching scheme and we know that all of our students who have participated benefit greatly from the experience, both personally and professionally.

There are also many opportunities for studying and working abroad during the vacations. The Careers Service are keen to help Classics students find work placements or study programmes abroad during the vacations.
